Sixth Semester

20-weeks internship at CREO Arkitketer A/S

During my 20-week internship at CREO Arkitekter A/S, I engaged in diverse tasks ranging from building design to sustainability strategy development, writing of prequalification reports, and experimenting with AI-based visual software. This multifaceted experience not only broadened my architectural and environmental expertise but also sharpened my skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation within a high-responsibility and fast-paced learning environment.

Core Competencies and Learnings

Analytical, Problem-Solving Skills

  • Conducted in-depth sustainability research, assessing the firm’s practices and developing targeted improvements.
  • Pioneered the creation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy, focusing on carbon emission reductions and sustainable construction practices. Managed this project independently, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and leadership in sustainability initiatives. This manual now serves as a pivotal guide for employees and customers, navigating them through the intricacies of sustainable design within construction projects according to the DGNB standards and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Performed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC) to evaluate the environmental and economic impacts of construction projects.

Revit Proficiency

  • Led the modeling and coordination of a major renovation project, overseeing the Revit setup, 3D modeling, and plan preparation. Additionally, participated in site visits and preliminary screenings, playing a crucial role in verifying the accuracy and relevance of our architectural drawings by confirming that they reflected the actual site conditions.
  • Experimented with new methods for visualizing building models using AI-driven software (Veras), pushing the boundaries of traditional architectural practices.

High Sense of Responsibility

  • Actively engaged in cross-functional collaborations, taking on responsibilities beyond the traditional scope of an intern.
  • Quickly adapted to the dynamic and diverse work environment at CREO, efficiently balancing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Embraced a steep learning curve in various domains, from technical architectural modeling to sustainable strategy development.
